'True Detective' Ending Shocks Viewers, Social Media Reacts

"True Detective: Night Country" is officially over, and reactions to the ending vary greatly.

The hit HBO mystery series wrapped up its fourth season Sunday night with a pretty wild reveal. For the sake of this article, I'm sticking to my general rule of no spoilers, and I'm not going to reveal what happened to all the scientists.

If you haven't seen it yet, then make that a top priority because leaks will eventually be all over the place. Personally, I liked the ending, but I knew as soon as I saw it that reactions would be very fractured. Some would hate it and others would love it.

Of course, there's no right or wrong reaction. It's up to the viewers, but X was definitely on fire with reactions after it was finally revealed what happened to all the scientists.

Overall, I really did enjoy the season. It was better than season two, not as good as season one and will likely battle season three for the second overall spot.

There were some bad moments, but the overall mystery was outstanding, in my humble opinion. In fact, it was the best overall mystery since season one.

Some felt the same way. Many others did not. That's the beauty of entertainment! Now, we sit back and wait to see if there's a fifth season. I certainly hope there is.
