Tops, Wigs & Fists Fly At Tybee Island 'Orange Crush' Spring Break Party

A year after total chaos on Tybee Island for the annual "Orange Crush" Spring Break party where there was gunfire, but "no lives lost," the party was back over the weekend with a much lighter crowd.

Even with the smaller crowd estimated to be 6,000 compared to 100,000 in 2023, ladies decided to let the fists fly right there on the beach over who knows what. Disrepect? Someone said they hated someone else's wig? Baby mama drama? Side piece drama?

No idea. What's crystal clear is that even in years when the police have things under control, you can still get a knock-down, drag out street fight right there on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

Fox-5 Atlanta reports state officials weren't taking any chances with this year's party. Roads and parking lots were closed ahead of time to deter the hordes that clogged highways in 2023.

"The behavior has been pretty good today. We’ve responded to a few medical calls with the Tybee medical authorities and that’s pretty much the extent of what we’ve done today," Georgia Department of Natural Resources Major Bob Holley told TV station WSAV.

Yes, there were DUIs, drugs and firearms, according to the Georgia State Patrol, but all things considered, it doesn't appear anyone died and that's considered a great year for the Orange Crush party.

The biggest issue, by far this year, seems to be the amount of trash left behind on the Tybee beach. Lifeguards picked up "10+ carts of trash from the shoreline," according to the Tybee Island Ocean Rescue team
