Too Skinny? Tara Reid Fights Back Against Body Shamers After Posting Instagram Bikini Photo
Actress Tara Reid is fighting back against the Instagram body shamers who attacked the star of classics as American Pie, American Pie 2, American Reunion and Taradise on E! saying she's too skinny and needs to eat a burger. Reid, 45, fired back at the body-shaming terrorists by letting them know that she has "high metabolism" and that she loves food.
Reid, who hasn't made a habit of posting bikini shots over the last several years, noted that there's "Nothing better then your friend taking hot artsy pics of you in Palm Springs."
Two artsy photos was all it took to send Instagram ragers into a full-blown fit.
“What the hell happened to you???” one person asked.
“You’re such a gorgeous girl (in fact I always get told I look like you when you were younger 😂) and it’s sad to see you like this,” wrote another.
A fed-up Reid, who has multiple acting roles in post-production according to her IMDb page, wasn't about to let the body shamers get away with their nasty attack.
"To all who made their great comments exposing their hate for my artsy picture I posted yesterday, it was the angle. Here is another picture from yesterday to show you I am not too skinny, I have a high metabolism," Reid wrote. "Anyone with a high metabolism understands it’s impossible to gain weight. All I do is eat. To everyone who wrote something nice and stuck up for me, I love you! And keep spreading that love, it is the only thing that will save this world. - #spreadlove #love #nohate #ilovefoo(.)"
The concern over Tara's skinny frame is nothing new. Back in 2018, the National Enquirer posted photos of a boney Reid at the beach in a bikini that was struggling to find bones to attach to.
“I am not anorexic,” Reid said in a 2018 interview with Daily Mail TV. “I have never been anorexic and I don’t have an eating disorder. I am just thin. People are overweight and we don’t attack them every time they go out.”
The actress noted she'd been called “painfully thin” for years, but added that she eats food and this is just how things are. “This is just my natural weight and people need to leave me alone.”
It's 2021 and they still haven't gotten the message.
