HBO Drops First Look At 'The Last Of Us' Season 2

Fans of "The Last of Us" finally have a slight tease at what's coming in season two.

The HBO show based on the popular video game series tells the story of Ellie and Joel as they travel the country following a parasitic fungal infection wiping out most of humanity.

Turns out, people were craving apocalyptic content following the pandemic. The show couldn't have arrived at a better time.

It was incredibly dark, sinister and fun. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey also both gave awesome performances. Now, it's time to prepare for season two.

HBO teases season two of "The Last of Us."

The new season of "The Last of Us" won't be released until some point in 2025. It's not ideal to wait roughly two years between seasons, but that's how life works out.

HBO just wants to make sure people keep talking, and that's why it dropped two images from the new season Wednesday.

One image shows Joel looking rather nervous and the other is of Ellie rocking a shotgun. Take a look at both below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

It's not a ton to go off of for the upcoming second season, but it's nice to see HBO understands the excitement and hype. Fans are craving anything we can get after a successful first season.

Pedro Pascal gave one of the best performances of his career, and Bella Ramsey shot to star status. Now, after a brutally violent ending, it's time to find out where the journey goes from here.

Have a fun season two theory (no spoilers), then I want to hear it at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
