Paulina Gretzky Reflects On The Death Threats After DJ Joined LIV

The second season of the Netflix series "Full Swing" is out and Paulina Gretzky sat down with the documentarians to reflect on what life was like for the Instagram mom when her husband Dustin Johnson took a huge bag of f-you cash from the Saudis.

"People sending death threats and awful, awful, awful things," Gretzky told "Full Swing" producers. "People were aggressive that’s for sure. But that’s when I shut it down for a little bit. I was like I don’t need to look at this. Everyone has an opinion on it. Fine."

Eventually, according to Paulina, life went back to normal and the Johnsons had a reported $125 million to get them through life and a lighter schedule compared to the PGA Tour.

"We have a little bit more time together now since things have changed a little, whereas before, it was like, go go go," Paulina continued. "We have more control now of how we do things. That old life that we had, I had to take a backseat, but now it feels like we’re in the front of the plane together flying. It was the right move."

And with age catching up to DJ, who turns 40 this summer, he was pretty much left with no choice when Greg Norman and the Saudi bad boys threw a big bag of dollars in his lap. Since 1978 when Gary Player won the Masters at 42, there have been just 19 Majors won by golfers over 40.

In his first LIV season, DJ pocketed $35 million and hasn't looked back. He just strolls up LIV fairways, seemingly having the time of his life even as the music blares from the DJ booth.

"We knew what we signed up for," Johnson told Netflix's production crew.

And Paulina, even with those early death threats, seems to be at peace with life and the millions in the bank.

"I love traveling with Dustin, I love being there with him," she said. "We have fun. We love being with each other. ‘I’m the girl saying my husband loves to hang out with me,’ ok, but that’s how I feel."
