Nurse Maggie Rawlins Makes 2021 SI Swimsuit Issue

If Sports Illustrated was going to include a frontline worker in its 2021 swimsuit issue, it did the right thing and included Maggie Rawlins, a nurse out of Charleston, South Carolina who was doing the modeling thing before COVID hit. That's when Rawlins hung up her bikinis and jumped into the fight against the 'VID with her fellow nurses.

“I feel like everyone has a role and responsibility to play during the pandemic,” Rawlins told People this week during a media tour for SI. “Since I have an active nursing license, I felt like was the right thing to do. Additionally, it was in New York City … That city has been so good to me, and I wanted to give back.”

And now Sports Illustrated checks a box by having a hot nurse in the 2021 swimsuit issue. If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. If you're a model trying to differentiate yourself out there on social media, find a hook. Be the model who roots for the Jets. Be the model who poses in half-cut college football shirts, which by the way, it's way beyond time for an IG model to do a series. Be the model who has a nursing license and can jump back into the fray and get a faceshield photo onto the IG page. That stuff sells big time.

SI is lapping up Maggie's credentials and throwing her out to do all the media rounds. This is how it's done. There's no shame in Maggie using her 'VID work, even if it was for three weeks, to further her career. Think outside the box, differentiate yourself on the 'gram and fire off piping hot new content.

Can't ask for more than that.
