Naked Tennessee Man Arrested For Floating Down A River While Singing 'God Bless America' & Running From Bail Bondsman
This one will sound like it's straight out of Florida, but it actually went down on the Nolichuckey River near Greeneville, Tennessee. That's where naked Tennessee Man Troy Hunt was arrested after leading authorities on a wild chase down the river while he sang "God Bless America" and floated on debris looking like Tom Hanks in Cast Away.
It's unclear why Hunt jumped into the river, but he eventually ended up naked -- he thinks the current ripped off his shorts -- and refused to be rescued by emergency personnel who threw life vests to the 52-year-old, who told authorities he didn't like the tone of voice rescuers were using.
According to a report obtained by the Greeneville Sun, Hunt told police rescuers “had yelled at him, which hurt his feelings so he refused the ropes and flotation devices.”
Police noted in their report that Hunt showed signs of being intoxicated. Bail bondsman Kerry Emmett, who was hunting for his client, wrote on Facebook that Hunt had been facing a third DUI. "We need to get him help," Emmett said.
According to WGRV, Hunt covered about 15 miles in 2 1/2 hours.
Now Hunt's on the hook for indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and public intox charges to go along with his troubles with the bail bondsmen and the local courts.
