'Mr. Wonderful' Kevin O'Leary Discusses Why He Should Buy TikTok On Maintaining With Tyrus

On the upcoming episode of OutKick's Maintaining With Tyrus, Tyrus speaks with entrepreneur and TV personality Kevin O'Leary, also known as Mr. Wonderful.

You can check out the full episode right now. And here's a quick clip of Tyrus and O'Leary talking about why buying TikTok would be a good idea for him.

Tyrus started by talking about how Elon Musk has fared after buying Twitter and then renaming it X but then mentioned how as soon as he heard TikTok may need a buyer, he thought of O'Leary.

"I was just joking in the green room, I was like, ‘Mr. Wonderful’ should buy that s--t,'" he said. "And then today it was a conspiracy."

He then asked O'Leary about the prospect of buying TikTok as well as free speech concerns associated with it.

O'Leary ran through some stats and figures about how many people use TikTok to illustrate just how much it's used by people as well as small business owners.

"It's the largest network in America; we should think of it that way," he said.

O'Leary then posed a hypothetical question about whether the Chinese would allow an American version of TikTok in their country.

"I believe in reciprocal rights in terms of how we treat China," O'Leary explained. "We want to compete in cars, we want to compete in steel, we want to compete on technology. Fifty-fifty, Whatever the rules are over there, those are the rules for them over here."

O'Leary talked about his distrust of the Chinese government and how India treated a similar issue with TikTok by simply. shutting it off.

"Now that doesn't have to happen in America; nothing to do with free speech," O'Leary said. "I think TikTok is a fantastic network, I would like to buy it.
