Honor Memorial Day With These Powerful Moments From War Films

Memorial Day is this Monday, and there's no better way to get in the patriotic mood than with great American war films.

This weekend is full of great food, time with buddies, a few beers and a little time off from work. However, none of us should forget why the extended weekend exists.

It exists so that the nation takes Monday to reflect on all the incredible sacrifices made by the men and women who fought for this country, and never made it home alive.

Honor Memorial Day with great war film moments.

Every Memorial Day weekend for the past several years, I carve out time to watch "Band of Brothers." I generally start at some point Friday, and am always finished by Monday night. Knock out two or three episodes a day, and it flies by.

It's also a brutal reminder of the price so many men in WWII paid and have paid since. In that spirit, I've compiled some great moments from different war movies for you all to enjoy. Yes, I realize "Band of Brothers" is a mini-series and not a movie, but it's also the greatest war story ever put on film.

Let's dive in starting with "Band of Brothers," and send us your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Now, with "Band of Brothers" behind us and everyone sufficiently fired up, let's roll into everything else.

And the best way to wrap this up is with a tribute that puts a bow on it all.

I hope you're all having a great weekend, enjoy these movie moments and definitely take some time to remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Feel free to reach out to David.Hookstead@outkick.com with your own Memorial Day stories and messages. I can't wait to hear them.
