Man Arrested For Indecent Exposure At Clothing Optional Beach Had A 'Feel Free To Investigate Gently' Sign

A man took looking for love in all the wrong places to the next level last weekend at a Florida beach.  Judging from his over the top attempt at finding someone to get to know better, finding love isn't the only part of his life that he struggles with boundaries.

60-year-old sound engineer Layton Paul Nauman's Saturday afternoon at the clothing optional Blind Creek Beach was interrupted by a cop who had been tipped off about his unusual presentation by a fellow beach goer.  The man pointed out Nauman to the officer as he sat in a recliner chair.

As the officer approached, he noticed that Nauman was completely nude, sitting in the reclining chair with a hat over his face.  That happens at a clothing optional beach, and wasn't what the beach goer was pointing out to the officer.

It didn't take long for the officer to notice what the issue was.  According to court records, Nauman had a metal contraption (worth reading the officer's description) attached to his junk.  There was a metal chain with a ring at the end of it connecting the contraption to a stick.

There were clothes nearby with a note on them that read, "Hello!  Please feel free to investigate!  Gently."  The note also included an illustration of a cat's face.

There Was No Talking His Way Out Of This One

Now, I know exactly what you're thinking.  You don't go through that much trouble without a good explanation as to what you're up to.  Nauman had an explanation ready to go.

While acknowledging that it was a bad decision to set up shop near a public walkway, he told the officer that "he was just hoping to meet someone and to go back to their house for a sexual encounter or maybe just go home with someone's phone number."

That didn't fly with the officer, who determined that his behavior was unacceptable and that his display was nothing more than him "baiting a sexual encounter."  He did not pass go, collect any money, or end up with anyone's phone number.

Nauman was placed under arrest and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail on a misdemeanor indecent exposure charge.  He posted the $500 bond and was released later that day.

The officer added that the "complete interaction" with Nauman was recorded on his body worn camera.  That's going to be incredible footage when it comes out.

Consider this a friendly reminder that when you swing big, you sometimes miss and end up striking out.
