I Can't Believe How Much Clay Travis Loves The 2024 TNML Polo

It's like Kobe Bryant telling some 8th man off the bench back in the day that he has a nice jumper. It's like Ken Griffey Jr. telling another lefty that he has a nice swing. It's like an A-golfer telling a D-golfer that he has a nice, smooth swing on a guys' golf trip.

When Clay Travis says he's in love with the 2024 Thursday Night Mowing League polo from the 2024 Collection®, it's a true honor.

Isn't it Clay's job to be a cheerleader for TNML gear?

Not at all. Clay has a million other things going on. He is selling coffee, running a radio show, fixing his hair (you're damn right I'm jealous of that hair) for Fox News hits. He's a busy guy. So busy that Lara Travis is in charge of hiring the landscapers. Clay hasn't mowed grass since he became rich.

He has no interest in mowing, but he respects what the TNML stands for and he knows an incredible polo when UPS drops it at his door.

Just listen to him this morning with OutKick's Charly Arnolt. "When this was sent to me, I pulled it out of the package and I said, ‘This is absolutely bad ass,’" Clay told Arnolt.

That's not fake, folks. Trust me, I've worked with Clay, and have been in business with Clay, since 2020. These compliments aren't thrown around.

Now, I'm not going to take full credit for coming up with this polo. OutKick T-shirt Manager Olivia G. deserves a ton of credit for taking the vision and making things happen within the fashion industry. She has to find people that can make these polos a reality. I'm told it's not exactly easy to make these special editions with mowers everywhere.

The beauty of this polo is that it triggers great memories even for guys like Clay, who watched at an early age how much pride his father took in mowing. "My dad mowed the lawn at our house by himself – I did it a little bit – but by and large it was his favorite thing to do. He would get out and cut the grass and feel a monster sense of accomplishment."

Man, talk about getting goosebumps. The TNML debuted in the spring of 2021 and this is the first time I've ever heard Clay share memories like this. That's the power of this year's polo. It's going to be an instant conversation starter.

People are going to smile when they see the polo, they're going to go through an emotional journey because it's going to trigger memories just like what Clay's sharing.

I was at a Madison, Georgia McDonald's wearing my TNML polo on Monday while cruising across I-20 to Augusta National when a well-dressed older man, probably pushing 80, who came up and said, "I love your shirt."

We shared a brief conversation about mowing and how he's retired, but now he mows lawns to keep busy. It was the perfect conversation. Pure joy.

That's what this year's polo is all about. It's about triggering the emotions and taking pride in the life that you've created for yourself.
