Gen Z Woman, 27, Is Baffled By 35-Year-Old Millennial's Text After Date

OMG, he might be the one, but I'm not sure based on the way he texts.

In a sign of the times, U.S.-based Gen Z content creator (that's now considered a job) Elizabeth Castaldi, 27, is embroiled in major drama after revealing she's baffled by a text message her 35-year-old date sent the morning after a recent date.

"Hey, had fun last night. Have a good day," the Millennial texted her.

One thing led to another and Castaldi was taking a screenshot to TikTok where she asked her audience, "Is he a bad texter or is he 35(?)"

BOOM, we have controversy.

"I have to start dating people my own age. But I won't," the influencer added.

Was the formal message, without emojis and slang, a bad thing?

Castaldi hopped into the comment section on her TikTok video to clarify that she wasn't completely turned off by the Millennial's formal message, it just left her wanting a little more.

"Let’s be clear, I do not have the ick. I just can’t read him and I really, really want to go on a second date," she told her fans. "It lacks any sense of enthusiasm, urgency, or intimacy. He could have written that to someone at work about a work function."

Is it wrong to text, ‘Hey, had fun last night. Have a good day’ the morning after a date?

It didn't take long for this content creator's comment section to overflow with takes.

  • If he texts like my dad it’s a green flag
  • Older dudes texts are my favorite lol
  • no because that means he’s in love with you
  • Seem entirely normal. I’m 40
  • The lack of emojis and exclamation got me overthinking
  • Nah mine was 36 & still used all the cute emojis with enthusiasm. Date the ones who match your energy
  • 34 Millennial here! That’s actually a sweet text…I think

When a Millennial asked Castaldi what a guy should text in this case, she responded, "Hey I had fun last night! I’d love to see you again(.)"

While Castaldi was likely over-thinking this text from her date, one of her commenters, Allison, put a bow on the entire episode.

"If he texts like he’s messaging his boss on teams you’re the one," she wrote.

And there it is.

The Millennial male kept things respectful in his text. He left the single and looking Gen Z female wanting more, which is understandable, but he didn't write a novel and come off as desperate.

Honestly, he played this like a pro.

Now, my concern here for the guy is that Castaldi might be expecting too much out of him. She's the content creator in the relationship while he's probably the quiet guy who likes to make trip itineraries and tracks his gas mileage.

She needs to understand this about the guy. He's calculating bar bill tips in his head while Elizabeth is crushing strawberry lemonade margs.

Good luck to both of them.

Is there a TikTok video I need to see an analyze like I'm Troy Aikman analyzing Monday Night Football or I'm Cris Collinsworth in the Sunday Night booth? Send me the video:
