Disney's New "Star Wars" Series Looks Shockingly Bad: TRAILER

Disney's new "Star Wars" series "The Acolyte" looks like it's going to be a disaster.

Disney has been pumping out "Star Wars" content at an insane rate since acquiring the rights from George Lucas, and there's been some success. "The Mandalorian" and "Obi-Wan Kenobi" have both done well for the entertainment giant. There are also plenty of people who hated the newer movies. Next up is "The Acolyte, and it looks like it's going to be awful.

The plot is described as follows:

"In ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte,’ an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems…."

"The Acoylte" doesn't look impressive.

Pretty simple, right? Honestly, just based off the description, it even sounds interesting. However the trailer is absolutely childish and disappointing.

"This isn't about good or bad. This is about power, and who is allowed to use it," a character states in the now-viral preview.

What the hell does that mean? By definition, someone shouldn't have power if they're bad. That line sounds like it was ripped right out of a woke textbook.

Give the trailer a watch below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

I'm sorry to anyone who was excited about this, but it looks unbelievably bad. Do the action sequences look promising? Sure, but that's where the optimism starts and ends.

The dialogue is unbelievably bad. Who thought writing the line mentioned above as well as how you can't trust your eyes was a good idea?

The writers are laying it on thick. We get it. Things aren't as they appear. No need to drown us in the themes and vibes. Being subtle is the key to success in a situation like this. Unfortunately, that was apparently forgotten while writing "The Acolyte."

Disney's latest "Star Wars" series premieres June 4th, and short of amazing reviews, it will be a hard pass from me. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
