Former Delta Force Operator Torches Insane Acorn Police Shooting Video

Former Delta Force operator Brent Tucker wasn't impressed by a cop unloading his gun after mistaking an acorn falling for gunfire.

For those of you who might have missed it by living under a rock, former Okaloosa, Florida deputy Jesse Hernandez resigned after unloading his handgun at his police car with a man handcuffed inside.

Hernandez mistakenly thought a falling acorn was a gunshot that originated from his vehicle and hit him. He hit the ground, pulled out his gun and opened fire at the man in his car. The video has been viewed millions of times and justifiably mocked for the unbelievable stupidity on display.

Miraculously, the man in the vehicle wasn't hurt by Hernandez's fire or the fire from a second officer responding to his panic.

Brent Tucker reacts to insane acorn police shooting video.

Brent Tucker, an all-time great guest on American Joyride, served several years in Delta Force and has a lot of experience when it comes to gunfights. There are few humans walking the planet with more experience on the topic. He seemed absolutely baffled as to why the man felt the need to go "Call of Duty" on the car.

"When I detain someone and we search them and we search them thoroughly, and once we put them in the vehicle, I could hear gunfire, and the first thing I'm not gonna do is turn around and shoot the guy that I just searched and handcuffed because he's off my list. So, I'm going to look everywhere else first," the former Tier One operator explained on "The Antihero Podcast."

He followed up his initial comment by adding, "I can't go shooting people in handcuffs, either. Surprise, surprise."

You can watch Brent and his co-host Tyler break it down below, and hit me with your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up nicely. Brent Tucker has killed a lot of bad guys. He knows when it's time to pull the trigger and when it's not.

We're talking about a guy who went toe-to-toe with the animals in ISIS. Again, good luck finding many humans with more gunfight experience, and his reaction is the same as many people:

What the hell was that cop thinking?

I hate to burst anyone's bubble here who thinks the cop didn't do anything wrong, but a falling acorn sounds *NOTHING* like gunfire. You could pitch an acorn against a piece of metal, and it still won't come close to sounding like the crack of gunfire.

Yet, an acorn hit the cop's car, and he thought he was in an action movie. It's truly stunning the man inside the car wasn't hit a single time.

Brent's assessment is definitely the correct one. Also, if you haven't seen my interview with Brent, it's a great look at what combat is like at its highest levels. He's an awesome American and a hell of an entertaining guy. He's also 100% correct on this issue. Let me know if you agree at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
