Danny McBride Shares Insane Take On Booze And Movie Theaters

Danny McBride is one of the funniest men on the planet, but his takes on movie theaters could be much better.

McBride is famous for "Eastbound & Down," "The Righteous Gemstones," "Vice Principals" and other wildly successful roles.

He's one of the few people left on the planet who truly pushes the limits with comedy, and that's why he has such a rabid and passionate following.

While there's no doubt McBride is hilarious, he apparently has no idea how some of us like to enjoy movies.

Danny McBride rails against alcohol being served at movie theaters.

McBride did an awesome profile with GQ, and while it was mostly very entertaining, he let it slip that there's one thing he really doesn't like:

Booze being served at movie theaters and the entire dining experience.

"I hate it, I can’t stand it. I also don’t think it makes sense to combine booze with movies. You’re going to have to piss. Doesn’t alcohol make you want to get up and get loose? You don’t want to sit there, drink beer, and just be quiet. I would have no interest in going to see a movie and just pounding IPAs. Just f*cking falling asleep," McBride told GQ.

While he's not for people cracking open some cold ones, he is all about smoking some weed while enjoying a film.

"If I went to a theater, and it was like, ‘Here’s your popcorn and here’s f*cking weed,’ I feel like that would be an awesome little combo right there," McBride added.

Wrong, Danny. Wrong.

I can only speak for myself, but if I'm going to a movie, you better believe I'm ordering a couple beers with a big bowl of popcorn. Why wouldn't I?

Hell, I'll drink beer watching a movie at my home if that's what I want to do. Yes, you might have to take a couple bathroom breaks, but to paraphrase the great Nick Saban, are you playing with a sense of urgency? Run - don't walk - to the bathroom.

If that's too much of a sacrifice, then you shouldn't be at the movie theater to begin with. It's just such a wild take from McBride that I had to triple check this is real.

The man who played Kenny Powers is against ice cold beer while I watch a movie? Never meet your heroes, folks!

You can have my beer when you pry it from my cold dead head. Never give up. Never surrender your right to chase a beer buzz at a movie theater or anywhere else you'd like. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
