Bradley Cooper Admits He Didn't Know If He Initially Loved His Kid

Bradley Cooper might not win any "Dad of the Year" awards after a recent interview about his daughter.

The Hollywood A-list star shares a daughter, Lea, with supermodel Irina Shayk. The child was born in March 2017, and is currently 6 years old.

Most people view having a kid as a watershed moment in life that changes their outlooks and perspectives. Many people talk about how there's an instant connection of love that changes people forever.

Cooper missed that memo for the first chunk of Lea's life on Earth.

Bradley Cooper unleashes unreal take about his kid's first eight months.

"The first eight months — I don’t even know if I really love the kid. It’s dope. It’s cool. I’m watching this thing morph. That’s my experience. Fascinated by it. Loved taking care of it. But would I die if someone came in with a gun," Cooper claimed during an interview on the "Armchair Expert" podcast, according to Page Six.

What a SCORCHING HOT take from "The Hangover" star. Absolutely wild thing to say out loud for the world to hear. You weren't sure for eight months if you'd take a bullet for your kid?

I'm sure Irina Shayk, Lea's mother, loved hearing that.

Fortunately, it sounds like Bradley Cooper *checks timeline* eventually got it together before Lea celebrated her first birthday.

"And then all of a sudden, it’s like no question," Cooper explained. Good for him. He eventually realized he did love his kid and might die for her.

What a hero. Someone pin a medal on this guy's chest.

There are some things that simply shouldn't be said for the world to hear. Admitting you didn't know if you'd die for you kid is wild. Hell, I don't even have kids, and I might send some rounds to save them if push came to shove. Bradley Cooper didn't even know if he'd die for his own. At least he claims that feeling didn't last forever. That's good news for Lea. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com. I'm guessing many of you will agree with my assessment.
