Bible Jackie Kennedy Read At JFK's Funeral Up For Auction With Insane Price Tag

How much would you pay to own the actual bible Jackie Kennedy read at husband John F. Kennedy's funeral after his assassination?

Well, it's time to put your money where your digital mouth is!

That very bible is currently up for auction as we speak, with bidding underway and set to run through the next week. As of this writing – 9:30 a.m. on Saturday – the bible is currently going for $15,500.

So, if you'd like to own a piece of American history – sad history, but history nonetheless – you better start scaling the living room couch for change and praying a rich uncle kicks the bucket before next Thursday.

How much is too much for this JFK bible?

Imagine showing up to Sunday service with that in your hand? You'd be the talk of the town. You'd be must-see TV every single time the preacher says, "now, open your bibles to Mark chapter 6."

(no clue what Mark 6 says, so don't read too much into that)

And, if it's anything like the churches I grew up in, there would be a ton of drama that comes with owning this piece of history.

You'd have the old ladies in the back who were pissed that you were flaunting it at church. You'd have the ones who accused you of "taking attention away from God." If you weren't at a Catholic Church, you'd have people pissed you had it at all.

Just chaos.

But it's also pretty cool. Not worth the … $50,000 (!!!) …. Heritage Auctions director Curtis Linder predicts it could go for, but still cool.

Anyway, Jackie Kennedy read Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, 1-8 the night JFK died, and it's marked appropriately in the above bible.

For those not brushed up on your bible knowledge, that passage says:

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven— A time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted. A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up. A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance. A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing. A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away. A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to be silent and a time to speak. A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace.

Amen, Jackie O.

Go get you a piece of history today!
