A New Horror Movie Features Bambi As A Murderous Deer On The Hunt For Blood: TRAILER

"Bambi: The Reckoning" somehow manages to look outrageous and awesome at the same time.

Turning classic children's stories has been a new trend that started with Winnie the Pooh becoming a bloodthirsty killer in a pair of movies.

Those films were the start of The Twisted Childhood Universe. The concept is super simple. Take all the classics and flip them on their heads.

No longer are the stories uplifting and inspiring. The heroes are now villains looking to shed blood.

"Bambi: The Reckoning" trailer hits the web.

Well, next up is Bambi with "Bambi: The Reckoning," and the plot is described as, "We follow Xana (Roxanne McKee) and her son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who find themselves in a car wreck and soon hunted down by the vicious killing machine, Bambi."

Does that not sound awesome? Well, the first preview is definitely going to send a shot of adrenaline straight to the soul.

As I told an OutKick teammate, this is actually such a genius idea from everyone involved in The Twisted Childhood Universe. They're taking content that is well-known, inverting it so the lovable protagonists are all killers and then releasing low budget films.

Bambi is supposed to be an uplifting childhood story about a young fawn. Now, it's going to be about Bambi getting some revenge. A better name might have been, "Bambi: Enough is Finally Enough."

Honestly, I can't wait to see what kind of madness is unleashed.

Also, the lineup of future films in this universe is stacked. The following films are set to follow "Bambi: The Reckoning":

  • Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare
  • Pinocchio: Unstrung
  • Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble
  • Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3
  • Awakening Sleeping Beauty

The titles alone are more than enough to get me interested. It's important to remember to have fun, and not take yourself too seriously. That's exactly what The Twisted Childhood Universe, and we'll see what we get with "Bambi: The Reckoning" when it drops October 31st. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
