As The 2838th Ranked VR Golfer In The World, I Don't Have A Problem With This Guy's VR Wedding Photos

Hey Internet cops, let's stop with the fake outrage over the Utah guy Jacob Wright who threw on his Apple Vision Pro VR headset for his wedding photos.

Jacob, 24, and his personal trainer bride, Cambree Wright, 19, got married back in February in Utah. Jacob is a software engineer who got his hands on one of the coveted $3,500 Vision Pro headsets and decided to have a little 2024 fun in his wedding photos.

He's a tech nerd. This is what tech nerds consider fun and, as a guy who is currently ranked 2838th in the world in VR golf on Meta's Golf+, I get where this guy is coming from. He's been having a blast on his VR headset and he knows the headset looks goofy.

Why not keep the goof going in wedding photos?

"I was like, 'Oh, it'd be like such a meme. It'd be so funny if we just took some pictures with it on after the wedding," Jacob told Fox Digital.

Exactly. Have some fun. The guy is 24 years old. His wife is 19. They're young, not jaded by the price of daycare or paying for a family of four to eat at Chick-fil-A. They're young and dumb. They have the world in front of them.

The last thing I'm going to do is bust the guy's balls for dorking out. Two weeks ago, I got a message at 8 a.m. on a Friday morning from my buddy Diesel and he was VR fishing in South Korea from the lobby of a Chevy dealership in Toledo, Ohio.

Did I tell Diesel he's a dork and embarrassing? Hell no. I congratulated him for getting in an hour of fishing and working on his #mentalhealth. Look at the grin on that guy as he's catching Spotted Barbel in South Korea. Priceless.

Why does he fish in South Korea on VR? I've never had that deep of a conversation with him, but I have to believe it's just his VR happy place where he can feel his #mentalhealth improving.

Trust me, when I throw on the Meta VR headset (username: Screencaps), I'm instantly in a good mood. I'm transported to mountains. I'm sent to the Scottish highlands. I'll play rounds of VR golf with my buddies and laugh, swear over bad shots and at the end of it all you wouldn't believe the happiness factor.

I don't need drugs or a six-team parlay to improve my #mentalhealth. Give me the VR headset.

That leads me back to Cambree Wright, Jacob's bride. She totally gets it. "I just got my wedding pictures back yesterday and all of them are [of] me laughing and smiling at Jacob in the Apple Vision Pros, so I guess the only [photo] where I look like a jerk is the one that blew up," she joked to Fox Digital.

Here's to Jacob and Cambree. Keep laughing. Keep enjoying the VR lifestyle. One day you'll look back at these photos and the technology will seem so ridiculous as a robot brings you dinner in your house.

Don't listen to the haters. Diesel and I have your back.
