Angry Mob Chases Down Kyle Rittenhouse Supporters After Campus Speech: VIDEO

Chaos broke out Wednesday night at the University of Memphis with Kyle Rittenhouse on campus.

The young man famous for shooting three people - killing two - in justified self-defense during a 2020 riot in Kenosha, Wisconsin was on campus giving a speech, and instead of people peacefully disagreeing or simply ignoring the situation, all hell broke loose.

Video shot by Julio Rosas, one of the best on-the-ground reporters in the world, shows a very angry mob chasing people down who attended the speech. Racial slurs could be heard, police rushed people out of the area and did what they could to protect people as the mob descended on them.

You can watch the incredibly disturbing footage below, and let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.

Angry mob chases down people who attended Kyle Rittenhouse speech.

This situation is a perfect example of everything that's currently wrong with America. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone and there's definitely nothing wrong with speaking your mind. This is the USA. The free flow of information and ideas is what makes this country great.

However, there's a big difference between disagreeing with someone and a mob chasing people down for attending a speech. Like or dislike Kyle Rittenhouse, people have every right in the world to hear his thoughts and see him speak.

Chasing down people who attended a speech of his to the point lots of police have to create a tunnel of escape is simply not acceptable.

Not only did the angry mom chase down supporters, but it also attempted to stop cars from leaving the event. Rosas reported the police had to push people back in order to create an exit.

Completely and totally unacceptable.

Finally, the narrative around Kyle Rittenhouse is incredibly distorted and incorrect. There was this belief held by some that he shot three people at a peaceful protest in Kenosha.

That's simply not correct. He shot three people who attempted to attack him during a violent and deadly riot that was torching the city. I know that because the court determined it, the film footage proved it and my girlfriend and another co-worker were right there when the gunfire started. Yet, the media did everything possible to smear Rittenhouse, and that impact is still with him years later.

People need to learn how to engage in civil debate. Chasing people down and blocking cars is never acceptable. Let me know if you agree at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
