Craig Counsell Supports Team Choice To Protest, Says Brewers Likely To Play Thursday

Videos by OutKick

The Milwaukee Brewers decided to take a page out of the Bucks’ book by sitting out of its contest with the Cincinnati Reds. Manager Craig Counsell supported the team’s decision to sit and believes the team will be back on the field for Thursday’s game.

Not like you have much choice as a manager to support your locker room’s choices on social justice. So even though the Brewers felt compelled to cancel today’s game, the audience of their sport will surely weigh on their future demonstrations. NBA basketball is the one sport (that cancelled an entire day’s worth of playoff games) that entertains an audience of people that mostly agree with the protests.

There’s no telling how far the players are willing to take this, but we should find out by game time on Thursday.

  1. I’m a Yooper myself but actually a Mets fan but after this b.s. I just cancelled my mlb.tv and bought outkick I’m done with baseball, football and was a casual basketball fan I WILL NOT watch or buy anymore stuff from them. Actually just threw out all my stuff tonight worth probably close to a grand. I’m not going to give these idiots a platform I’m my house.

  2. I think these public figures are sticking to the safe talking points to avoid criticism from the whack jobs in media. The MSM is fishing for someone to say anything remotely questioning of the absolute holiness of all things protesting so they can start a public persecution and create a story.

Guys like Counsel may not believe a word he said but knows to keep his head down to avoid the persecution.

This mentality is also why I believe polling shows Biden with a fake lead right now. The same thing happened last election, because when people are asked by random poll interviewers they feel pressure to answer according to the current main stream media tone to seem like they’re going along with the popular media driven opinions. The DNC knows this, a lot of Trump voters hang up on telemarketing calls from pollsters, so these polls are garbage. This is why the DNC are desperately trying to confuse the voting process and floating ideas that Biden won’t concede. If they thought they had a big lead why would they be acting like they’re behind? They know polls are garbage too.

  3. The leagues are playing dangerous game. The lockdown already showed most Americans dont actually care about sports as much as we thought we did. Do the sports leagues realize they are Not bringing in a single fan with the social justice message and only subtracting fans? Seriously is there a single person who is like “wow, MLB Really cares about social justice, i am going to start watching”

  4. Dear Mr. Counsell, the Milwaukee Brewers, and the Rest of the MLB,

Our Lives will not end if the MLB, NBA, and NFL go away for good. Yes I once loved watching and following sports, but I will go on – without you. I am sure not alone here. I will do everything in my power to share with the youth of the country to enjoy the participation of playing sports, but make sure they know their “Stars/Heroes” left them and not the other way around. Give me a sports jersey with a “1” on the front and on the back where the name goes, select, doctors, nurses, health-care workers, police, fireman, freedom-fighter, Christian, or Proud-America!

Frankly, it is time ALL Athletes get a job and educate yourselves. The ‘Bubbles” you live in are not reality!
