COVID-19 Numbers Hit New Low In Maskless Texas, Mississippi

Last month, an NBC News editorial called decisions to lift mask mandates in Texas and Mississippi "a horrible idea." Even President Joe Biden called Texas' decision "a big mistake" and "Neanderthal thinking." But today, despite all the wailing and gnashing of teeth, those two states are seeing their lowest COVID-19 cases in a year, according to Breaking911.

Not only did leaders in Texas and Mississippi make wearing masks optional. They also reopened businesses, including MLB stadiums, to 100% capacity. The Rangers decided to open at 100% and the Astros at 50%.

Just to reiterate: Texas and Mississippi have zero state-imposed coronavirus restrictions, and the number of coronavirus cases are at their lowest point since the pandemic began.

This the opposite of what the NBC News editorial suggested would happen. The editorial was co-authored by Dr. Megan Ranney, an associate professor of emergency medicine and public health at Brown University, and Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University School of Public Health.

"We know, absolutely and unequivocally, that masks stop the spread of COVID-19. Masks are one of the most effective nonpharmaceutical protections against the pandemic," the article read.

Absolutely? Unequivocally?

Well, Breaking911 news says that's not true, as does a study published by Stanford University researchers, as relayed by OutKick's Meg Turner.

“Although, scientific evidence supporting facemasks’ efficacy is lacking, adverse physiological, psychological and health effects are established,” the Stanford article read.

The mainstream media may claim to consult "data," but they are finding that the data no longer supports their preferred narrative. Just ask those in Texas and Mississippi.
