The Julio Jones saga with the Atlanta Falcons looking for a potential trade partner looks like it might have taken another turn, as there’s another team that might make an offer for the future Hall of Fame pass catcher.
Let’s go through the list of teams that currently are in the mix for Jones, who seems to be ready to move to on play for a contender.
The first team is the AFC South’s top club the Tennessee Titans, whose leading receiver is A.J. Brown, but Jones is far and away a better receiver and a player who can make plays that no one on their roster can make.
Reports currently say that a deal between the Titans and Falcons which would include the Falcons sending a second-round pick to the Titans is the most likely outcome in a trade.
Then there are the 49’ers, who also could use a leading receiver, but have been somewhat hesitant to go out and make a big move to bring in a player such as Jones.
Despite the 49ers looking like they are going to go with a young rookie QB in Trey Lance, Jones doesn’t seem to have an issue going to play in the Bay for a team that just two seasons ago played in the Super Bowl and held a 4th quarter lead.
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler dropped a rumor yesterday that seems to make sense for the team that would be bringing in Jones, that being the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams leading pass catcher a season ago was Cooper Kupp, who pulled in 92 catches for 974 yards and three scores.
By comparison, Jones at 32 years old last year had 51 catches for 771 yards and three scores. Adding him as a #2 to the mix would right a way help out a Rams offense that will look vastly different with Jones catching balls opposite Kupp.
