Connecticut Woman Sets World Record For Largest Mouth Gape

Samantha Ramsdell of Connecticut has herself a Guinness World Record after it was confirmed by officials that the TikTok star’s mouth gape, checking in at a massive 6.52 cm, is the largest mouth gape in the world. The 31-year-old’s gape was confirmed at a South Norwalk, Connecticut dental office where Dr. Elke Cheung used digital calipers to get the exact gape calculations.

After all was said and done, Samantha had herself a world record. “Being 31 and being able to get a record for something that really I was so insecure about, something that I wanted to keep so small, it’s great because now it’s like one of the biggest, best things about me,” she told Guinness World Records.

Samantha said growing up wasn’t the easiest, especially when other kids started calling her “big bass mouth.” Now who’s laughing? Samantha has 1.7 million TikTok followers and videos that routinely bring in over a million views. The new record holder, who grew up in Maine, is now doing comedy shows in New York City and seems to have turned her giant mouth into a big business.

One of Samantha’s bits is to go to a restaurant and smash the biggest item on the menu, which means she’s usually crushing some sort of hoagie or three glazed Dunkin Donuts in her mouth like she did on National Donut Day.

“My mouth has set me apart from the other millions of comedians, singers and all these other creators. I never thought it would be possible to be this famous off my mouth, but it’s incredible. It’s really really cool,” she said.

Someone had to get the record. It might as well be Samantha. She seems well equipped to handle her title holder duties.
