Comedian/Actor Anthony Johnson, Star Of 'Friday,' Dead At 55

Comedian and actor Anthony Johnson has died, his rep tells TMZ. He was best known for his roles in Friday and House Party. He was reportedly found lifeless in a Los Angeles store and rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No cause of death has been revealed. Sad.

Fellow Friday star Ice Cube shared his condolences via Twitter.








The actor's career took off in 1990 after his role as E.Z.E in House Party. He then took center stage in stand-up comedy all over L.A. He followed up with parts in Lethal Weapon 3 and Menace II Society before he took on the role of Ezal in the 1995 comedy Friday.

Anthony Johnson appeared in nearly 50 films over his career, and according to TMZ, was looking to reprise his role in upcoming film Last Friday.

Johnson was just 55. RIP.
