College Football Coaches Poll Revealed, Alabama Once Again Tops Rankings

The USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll was released on Tuesday, and the Alabama Crimson Tide are once again sitting at No. 1 after winning their sixth national title under Nick Saban.

Of the 65 first-place votes cast, Alabama got 63 while Oklahoma took the other two. Oddly enough, that still didn't position the Sooners to lock up the No. 2 spot. Instead, they checked in at No. 3 behind Clemson.

Here are the entire top 25 rankings:

There were six total SEC teams ranked in the first edition of the top 25, with five of them sitting up there at No. 13 or better. Of those six teams, four of them hail from the SEC West, which is expected to be a deeper division across the board than the East.

Based on this poll, we are getting a No. 2 Clemson versus No. 5 Georgia matchup in Week 1. We'll also get to see top-ranked Alabama play No. 16 Miami in Atlanta as well. We are so close to college football season, folks.
