Cleveland Browns WR Davion Davis Suspended Two Games By NFL

The Cleveland Browns will be without wide receiver Davion Davis after it was announced Wednesday he'd been suspended two games by the NFL for violating the league’s policy on substance abuse back in 2019 when he was a member of the Minnesota Vikings. The receiver from Hutto, Texas was arrested in Minnesota on October 26th, 2019, two days after he made his NFL debut. He was initially stopped for speeding when a state trooper saw signs of alcohol impairment and arrested Davis on suspicion of driving while impaired. Davis eventually pleaded guilty to careless driving. As a result of this incident, the wide out will not be allowed to play in the Browns' first two regular season games against the Kansas City Chiefs and the Houston Texans. He can be with the team for the rest of the preseason and play in Sunday’s exhibition finale against Atlanta. Davis has lately been climbing up the ladder for the Browns. He made a leaping touchdown snag against the Jaguars in the preseason opener, and coaches have been complimentary about his play thus far.
