OutKick’s Clay Travis joined Shannon Bream Wednesday on Fox News @ Night to talk about the Washington Football Team’s decision to drop its cheerleading squad for a co-ed dance team.
“The Washington Football Team is running from everything in its history,” Clay begins. “They don’t have a mascot, they don’t have a cheerleading team, and they don’t have a lot of playoff wins.”
Clay said his wife, a former NFL cheerleader, explained to him this latest move is just a bait-and-switch:
“Most of what cheerleaders do is dance. They are just making people who don’t understand the difference think something is changing.”
“This is equity, Shannon,” Clay says sarcastically. “There are a lot of men out there who want to be cheerleaders and dancers. Come on, they are trying to act like they are making a change in a big way, yet I don’t think the tangible results will be substantially different.”

it hasn’t even been more than 6-7 months since this craziness started. and all of it is designed to protect Snyder’s Harvey Jeffrey Epstein type behavior?
this isn’t about the Redskins and somehow like Andrew Cuomo in NY it has become a major distraction from Snyder believing that hot women might attract sponsors?
all sports use hot ladies to attract attention and snyder went tooooo far, so the entire team has to change?

Shannon Bream is my favorite lady. One of the few women, in history, to appear in Miss America (as Miss Virginia) and Miss USA (as Miss Florida).
Agreed Craig. Shannon is beautiful, smart, great at her job. Clay’s appearances on her show are always excellent.
How about a few interracial biological XY male pairs dressed as women for the squad? That way, it will be really inclusive.
It’s been well over 15 years since I paid any attention to the Redskins/WFT. Dan Snyder is a wealthy child. He reacts to the world like a child and has run a once-great franchise into the ground managing it like a child. Almost every die-hard ‘Skins fan I know has given up. This latest stunt is just that – a stunt. I can’t see cheerleading squads lasting very much longer is this PC world where I guess we can pick our genders and sexuality on a daily basis.
Sad…and even more sad.
It would be great if Snyder were man enough to sell the team. But he’s not.
Is Snyder going for the Jerry Jones tallest midget award? Both are lousy at player personnel decisions and their playoff records speak volumes.
