Here’s something that shouldn’t come as a surprise: The mainstream media lies. So do tech giants such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
And not only do they lie, but they often refuse to allow dialogue that opposes their own beliefs.
All of this is something OutKick founder Clay Travis touched on during his visit with Steve Hilton on Fox News.
“For instance, with COVID, we were told you can’t even mention the idea that COVID might have escaped from a Chinese lab,” Clay said. “That’s banned on Facebook, that’s banned on Twitter.”
“You’re not allowed to discuss the efficacy of cloth masks, (and) now everybody is coming out and saying that they don’t work,” Clay added.
“Remember back in the summer, saying, ‘Hey, I’m a little bit apprehensive based on this data from Israel and from England, where they have a faster rate of vaccination, that the vaccines were not going to prevent the spread of COVID.’ … You weren’t allowed to say any of that.”
This type of censorship, of course, only allows for one school of thought. And that’s the very type of thing the media and its platforms are supposed to be against. The Internet has always welcomed conversation. At least, that’s the way it used to be.
“So what it creates when you don’t allow conversation, when you stifle debate, then the marketplace of ideas is curtailed,” Clay said. “What it creates is a massive amount of distrust from people all across the political spectrum.”
