Clay: Megan Rapinoe Botches Chance To Tell World Why America Is Great

Megan Rapinoe is now one of the faces of Victoria's Secret's new underwear campaign. This, to say the least, seems a bit curious. OutKick's Clay Travis shared his thoughts on the endorsement move.

"Megan Rapinoe, like Colin Kaepernick, has derided America as an awful place," Travis said. "I want to focus on Rapinoe in particular -- because Rapinoe, in my opinion, has totally whiffed on an opportunity to uplift American values and spread them around the world."

Clay went on to explain.

"Do you know that if you look at the women's World Cup Bracket Challenge, every year when it comes out, and you put the two countries side by side and pick the winner, you can pick the winner of a women's World Cup match almost exclusively just by figuring out how much freedom women have in their country," he said. "... So Megan Rapinoe had an opportunity on the national stage. Instead of insulting America, she could have said, 'Hey, if every country gave the same freedoms to their women that the United States of America did, you would win more soccer games.'

"We should be that shining example, that city on the hill, that perfect representation of equal rights for other countries around the world."

Basically, Rapinoe had a chance to use the stage offered by Victoria's Secret to show why American values are actually a good thing. But she instead kicked the ball out of bounds when there was an empty net right in front of her. For Clay's full take, check out the video below:
