Clay Ended My One Week Retirement...I'm Back Before Sports

Just over a week ago I left my previous Internet job (Busted Coverage) for a quick recharge all the while knowing June 1 would roll around and I'd be back to work grinding it out on Outkick for Clay with new logins, passwords, coworkers and everything that comes along with new employment. Besides jerking around with friends on Facebook, I was off social media. I went golfing, floated like a whale in the pool, planted flowers, sat on the porch by myself listening to birds chirp -- seriously, this will happen at some point in your life if you have kids -- and tried to flush my system of 12-plus years of Internet content roid raging. It felt damn good. Cleansing.

And now I'M BACK. Born to these streets, I had no choice but to return. Retirement was fine for a week, but when Ric Flair GIFs and Johnny Manziel content is in your blood, it's in your blood for life until something like Rona kills me off.  My goal here at Outkick remains the same -- attempt to entertain you guys during troubling times. Maybe help you smile once a day. Laugh a little. I get you're stressed out of your mind. I get that unemployment is through the roof. I get there is rage across this country. As I always have, I'll leave the deep-thinking stuff to the pros who specialize in that department. It's not me. It's not why I was brought here.

I missed little things like this:

For those who have no idea who I am or my background: married, overweight, middle-aged, balding Ohio Man with a couple of kids, who enjoys sports, relaxing trips to Costco, chirping birds, Pandora's Yacht Rock channel, a quiet day on Put-In-Bay & Ohio State football (I'm not into Dodge Rams, or trucks in general like most middle-aged OSU white guys are).  I enjoy college football trips across SEC country, especially LSU. And I really enjoy meeting people all over the country who want to show me why their part of the world is great.

It's been almost four years since I met Clay while tailgating with my neighbors and Vols fans before Battle at Bristol. We said our hellos, took a photo and then we went our separate ways. Here we are in 2020, one of the wildest years on the books, and Clay's my new boss.

Reminder: as always, the social media DMs are wide open. You guys know the content I enjoy. Let's see what you can find out there in the world.

Now, let's get to what my old friends have been up to while I was away:

It's good to see Baker Mayfield get some R&R before the NFL fires up in July. Everybody relax, he's not pounding the Claws like the rest of the crew. The guy has had a quiet 2020 since all the Cheesecake Factory stuff. Johnny Manziel appears to have brought back some fun with the Texas shirt. Good to see him mixing it up with Texas/A&M fans. And Patrick Mahomes appears to be getting rested before the title defense. New dog? I've been out of the loop.
