Clay: Democrats Already Terrified Of Potential DeSantis Presidential Run In 2024

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has Democrats shaking in their shoes, and not surprisingly, they are now trying to invent ways to take him down. That was the message delivered by OutKick founder Clay Travis, who says DeSantis very well may be one of the top candidates to become president in 2024.

"And Democrats are terrified that Ron DeSantis is going to be incredibly difficult to beat if he runs," Clay says. "If he runs, and I think there's a very good chance he will ... they are already starting to tear him down. "

Clay points to the "60 Minutes hit piece" as one example of the liberal media's fear of DeSantis. Then there was MSNBC's Joy Reid, who may have even outdone 60 Minutes when it comes to making up stuff -- as Reid shamelessly tried to connect DeSantis to a sex-trafficking ring.

"This is a sign of how nervous Democrats are about Ron DeSantis," Clay says. "Because here is what they know deep down if they have any semblance of intelligence -- Donald Trump would have wiped the floor with Joe Biden if COVID didn't happen. Let me repeat that: The only reason Joe Biden got dragged across the finish line was because of COVID. ...

"And Democrats, even though they're trying to claim otherwise, know that if Ron DeSantis is the nominee, if Republicans end up with a decent nominee in 2024, that nominee is going to crush Kamala Harris. Because identity politics and cancel culture are wildly unpopular, and in 2022, Democrats are going to lose the House, and they're going to lose the Senate. ... And as a result, we are setting up what will be an absolute ass-kicking in 2024."

Democrats likely agree, and that's likely what all this DeSantis noise is all about.
