The Los Angeles City Council voted unanimously to begin requiring proof of vaccine paperwork to enter restaurants, movie theaters, and other private businesses. The new mandate adds to an existing mandate which orders social establishments like bars, clubs, and wineries to require proof, as well.
All of the new ordinances come on the heels of Gov. Gavin Newsom’s successful defeat of a recall election. Their radical agendas now empowered by a vote of public confidence, California’s Democratic politicians are pushing the state toward heavy mandates all across the board.
To enter these businesses with special guidelines, patrons will need proof of at least one shot by tomorrow, Oct. 7, and proof of two (if applicable) by Nov. 4. The additional businesses affected by these mandates include restaurants of any kind (fast food establishments, coffee shops, tasting rooms, cafeterias), gyms and fitness venues, entertainment venues (movie theaters, shopping centers, concert and performance venues, sports arenas, museums, arcades) and personal care establishments (spas, nail salons, hair salons, tanning salons, estheticians, skin care, tattoo shops).
Council president Nury Martinez flaunted the city’s new tyrannical measures proudly after the 13-0 vote.
“If we ever want to get back to normal, to what Los Angeles was like pre-COVID, we need to stop the spread,” Martinez said. “If individuals want to go to their gym, go to their local bar without a mask, you need to get vaccinated. And if you want to watch a basketball game, a baseball game, go to a concert in a big venue, or even go into a movie theater, you need to get a shot.”
Goodbye, Los Angeles. I’ll miss the $10 beers, rampant homelessness, and smog tax the most.
