Chuba Hubbard Rushes Out Of Oklahoma State To Focus On NFL

Oklahoma State junior running back Chuba Hubbard is ready for the NFL, whether the NFL wants him right now or not.

One thing we do know is that Hubbard will no longer be playing at Oklahoma State, instead opting to sit out the rest of the season to focus on preparing for the draft. Hubbard made the decision ahead of Saturday's Big 12 showdown vs. Baylor.

“Chuba’s not going to play,” Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said on Oklahoma State’s radio pregame show. “Chuba’s chosen to go to the NFL.”

That means the Cowboys must march forward without last season's leading FBS rusher (2,094 yards and 21 touchdowns in 2019). This season, he has compiled 625 yards and five touchdowns on 133 carries whikle struggling with injuries. He has not played since Nov. 21, when the Cowboys suffered a 41-13 pummeling at the hands of rival Oklahoma.

Hubbard is 6-foot-0 and 208 pounds, and a native of Alberta, Canada. He is largely considered one of the top five eligible running backs for the 2021 draft -- though he's closer to the 4-5 range than the top.
