Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes: Hurtin' Toe Is Ready To Go

The world's most notable toe is doing just fine, thank you very much. That's the latest from Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whose toe injury was all the talk heading into the AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills.

The toe again became a topic as we head into this week's Super Bowl, where the Chiefs will aim for a repeat as champions against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Mahomes injured the toe three weeks ago in a playoff win over the Cleveland Browns. He also entered concussion protocol during that same game, but that particular injury is old news. The toe is the question of the day, and here's a dose of good news for football fans everywhere -- Mahomes told reporters that the injury is "a lot better" and that he is "pretty close to 100 percent."

So barring any setbacks, Mahomes and his toe will be ready to go for Super Bowl LV in Tampa. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. EST.
