As the Chiefs offense rounds back into shape, another important piece makes his return to the lineup.

Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was activated from the injured reserve list Saturday and will play on Sunday. Edwards-Helaire has been out of action since Week 5, recovering from an MCL sprain. The Chiefs (6-4) hosts the Cowboys (7-2) at 4:25 p.m. on FOX at Arrowhead Stadium. Kansas City is a 2.5-point favorite, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

The 22-year-old was off to a great start in his second season before suffering the injury. In five games, Edwards-Helaire has rushed for 304 yards on 65 carries. He's added two receiving touchdowns.

Backup Darrel Williams has played well with Edwards-Helaire sidelined. Williams has run for 343 yards on 95 carries and four touchdowns. He's been impactful as a receiver, hauling in 31 passes for 271 yards and one trip to the pay dirt. Williams is coming off a nine-catch, 101-yard performance in the Chiefs' 41-14 win over the Raiders last Sunday.

Williams will assume his role as the third-down back, while Edwards-Helaire will get the bulk of the carries. Kansas City is looking to stay in first place in the AFC west with a win.
