Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy On Broncos' Coaching Radar

The Denver Broncos have asked for permission to speak with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy.

Denver hopes to speak to Bieniemy regarding the head coaching vacancy after firing head coach Vic Fangio Sunday morning.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports the Broncos currently have nine head coaching slips out:

While there is quite a qualified list of candidates for the newly opened jobs available, Bieniemy's resume speaks for itself.

Kansas City has scored the most points per game in the NFL (30.3) since Bieniemy became the offensive coordinator in 2018, along with the most yards per game (404.2).

The Chiefs also have the best record in the NFL during Bieniemy's time with the team, going 50-15 with three conference championship game appearances and a Super Bowl title in the 2019 season.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes also has the most passing yards, passing touchdowns, and the second-highest passer rating since the start of the 2018 season, CBS Sports reports.
