Over the weekend, a number of Chicago police officers turned their backs to radical Mayor Lori Lightfoot at the University of Chicago Medical Center, where two officers were transported after being shot in the line of duty.

For background, Chicago Police Officer Ella French was shot and killed during a traffic stop this week, and her partner continues to fight for his life at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
Moments before nearly 30 officers turned their backs to Lightfoot, the injured officer’s father, a retired Chicago police officer, reportedly excoriated Lightfoot and even blamed her for what happened to his son.
John Catanzara, Chicago’s FOP president, told Fox News that Lightfoot was told not to visit the hospital’s seventh floor, where the injured officer and his family were gathered. Yet, Catanzara says she “still thought she knew best and went up there against the advice of family.”
“Turning their backs on the mayor was an excellent example of how the hundreds of police officers felt waiting outside the hospital,” Catanzara goes on.
“They have had enough and are no longer going to remain silent anymore.”
As expected, Lightfoot responded on Twitter and blamed guns for the Chicago crime crisis, not her poor leadership.
Some say we don't do enough for the police. Others say we do too much. All of this must stop.

Lightfoot has turned her back on Chicago police for months. They’ve now finally done the same to her.
