Charles Barkley Hilariously Explains Meeting Phil Mickelson

Charles Barkley and Phil Mickelson will compete in golf against Steph Curry and Peyton Manning on TNT this afternoon -- you're welcome for the reminder -- and to promote the event, Mickelson and Barkley discussed how they met:




It stands to reason that they are friends now as they've both been in sports celebrity circles for awhile, but their friendship actually goes all the way back to Barkley's days with the Phoenix Suns. Mickelson's then-girlfriend, Amy, who is now his wife, was friends with Barkley and kept badgering him to play golf with "her boyfriend Phil." She never specified Phil's last name, and Barkley assumed he was Phil the Bartender and kept putting it off. After she revealed that it was in fact Phil Mickelson, he and Barkley have been friends ever since.

Imagine playing a round with Phil and Barkley and hearing everything they talk about with their filters fully off.
