Charles Barkley Calls Shaq Karen, Says Kobe and Wade Carried His Fat Ass

Videos by OutKick

While the world keeps wondering how long it can last, Inside the NBA remains the gold standard of sports studio shows. Thursday night put the lighter side of the program on spectacle, as Charles Barkley and Shaq bickered about defense in the Nets-Blazers game which was 73-67 Portland at the half.

Here’s Barkley calling Shaq a Karen:

And here’s Shaq not subtly referencing the fact that he won championships while Barkley didn’t, followed by Barkley muttering to Shaq that Dwyane Wade and Kobe Bryant carried his fat ass:

Nothing really got settled here, but that’s also kind of the point — Barkley and Shaq can rib each other without taking it personally or holding grudges about it. The audience can enjoy good-hearted conflict that also doesn’t feel like tension, which is actually a pretty difficult balance to strike.

  1. Hey Ryan,
They are THE BEST for sure…it took a while, but kudos to them for knowing when to lighten up and enjoy the lives they’re leading right now. I haven’t watched a minute of hoops on any network since floor painting for adults became okay, but I’ll always watch Ernie, Jet, the Big Shamrock, and Sir Charles on OUTKICK or maybe a link somewhere.

  2. I don’t fault Barkley for not winning a championship. Nobody, including Shaq, won anything until Jordan retired. Shaq was just lucky enough that he only played like half his career with Jordan. Even then he didn’t win anything unless he was paired with a Jordan-esque player.

  3. Agreed Michael Jordan in my opinion is the best ever and played in a much tougher league then too. Just having some fun i like Barkley always pretty funny and entertaining yep nobody wins titles by themselves that’s for sure little bit of luck is always good too. Still 4-0 advantage the big diesel
