Central Michigan QB John Keller Shot At Party, Hospitalized In Serious Condition

Central Michigan quarterback John Keller and another student were shot at an apartment complex near campus over the weekend. Both have been hospitalized.

Yahoo Sports reports that Keller and senior Tyler Bunting, were shot early on Saturday morning, university president Bob Davies said.

Central Michigan Life reports local police were dispatched to an apartment complex after receiving word of gunshots fired at an off-campus party around 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

The article states a fight broke out and during the fight, someone grabbed a gun from a vehicle and started firing into the apartment.

Police say Keller suffered two gunshot wounds and is listed in serious condition, while Bunting was initially listed in stable condition.

Keller did not see game action in 2020 after sitting out due to NCAA transfer requirements. He spent his first season at Cincinnati, where he redshirted and did not see game action.

Keller’s family organized a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses.
