CC Sabathia Nearing Deal with The Ringer

CC Sabathia is nearing a deal with The Ringer to host a podcast, sources tell Outkick the Coverage.

A spokesperson for The Ringer could not be reached by the time of publication.

Sources add the current plan is for the podcast to be exclusive to Spotify, which acquired The Ringer earlier this year. The Ringer continues to expand its podcast network. Additional shows will be added by both The Ringer and Spotify, per sources.

Two weeks ago, The Ringer signed Rachel Lindsay to host a sports and entertainment podcast with Van Lathan.

Sabathia, 39, has successfully transitioned to a media talent. Most notably, for the R2C2 podcast with Ryan Ruocco. The former Yankee has shown the ability to expand beyond baseball talk. In February, Sabathia filled in for Kyle Brandt on Good Morning Football.

UPDATE:

Sources tell Outkick it's expected that Ryan Ruocco will come along with Sabathia. Their popular R2C2 podcast would move from The Undefeated to Spotify. The deal will not change any of Ruocco's assignments with the various other networks he's signed to.
