Carson Wentz is out indefinitely, pending the results of tests on a foot injury he sustained during yesterday’s practice, according to ESPN’s Mike Wells. We hope it’s nothing major, but knowing Carson Wentz’s extensive injury history, this doesn’t sound good.
Colts’ QB Carson Wentz is out indefinitely as he undergoes further testing on a foot injury that he suffered at the end of Thursday’s practice, per @MikeWellsNFL and me.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) July 30, 2021
Colts’ second-year QB Jacob Eason took the starter reps at today’s practice, with Sam Ellinger as his backup.
Wentz has been impressive and was trending up the past couple of days with some impressive throws down the field. Those throws provided a sneak peek at the health of that shoulder and his body overall. Now, the future of the Colts awaits an MRI that could set this team back considerably.
We’ll be sure to deliver any update the Colts announce in the coming hours, so check back with OutKick to keep up with the latest.
