Carson Wentz, Colts Will Be Featured On In-Season Version Of 'Hard Knocks'

Hard Knocks is expanding from the preseason to the regular season, as well, the NFL announced yesterday. For years, most of the drama included in Hard Knocks has centered around players acclimating to one another, new blood in the organization, and the final roster cuts. Now, the NFL hopes to capture the intensity of the game on a weekly basis, documenting the ups and downs of professional football players and staff as they balance the rigors of a 17-week season.

The inaugural regular season version of Hard Knocks will feature the Indianapolis Colts and will premiere on Nov. 17 on HBO. New episodes will air every Wednesday throughout the end of the Colts season, which could theoretically include a postseason run, though few NFL pundits are picking the team to make much noise in 2021.

The Colts were a playoff team last year with Philip Rivers at the helm, but he’s retired now and Carson Wentz has moved to town to try to rehab his image as a winner. The Colts also feature a well-respected Frank Reich at head coach, one of the top linebackers in the league, Darius Leonard, and colorful owner, Jim Irsay.

The Colts lost their season opener to Seattle and now face the revamped Los Angeles Rams in Week Two. The FanDuel Sportsbook spread for the contest has ballooned from Colts (+1.5) out to (+3.5), and is currently the most-bet game on the board heading into the weekend.
