Canelo And Caleb Plant Get Heated At LA Press Conference

Videos by OutKick

As we near a Nov. 6 matchup between Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant, we have to go through all the press conferences to pique interest in the title fight. The two fighters got into an opened-handed scuffle, just as everyone expected.

Probably staged, but look at Canelo’s head movement…

Unless these two met up and choreographed which hand he’s throwing and when, this footage is staggering. They’re professional boxers who’ve been taught how to defend their face since they were kids, but that type of raw skill is still impressive.

If this encounter foreshadows anything, it’s that Canelo is about to beat the brakes off this kid. Maybe don’t throw the left hand when it counts?

    • I think this is going to be a challenge. Plant’s style is much like Mayweather’s. He’s not trying to brawl or knock anyone out, he’s a skilled boxer who is going to make Alvarez move and work to hit him. He’s planning to make this a 12 round jabbing marathon. If he avoids getting tagged by a big Canelo bomb it’s going to be a great fight.
