Cam Newton Cleared to Return for Patriots

The New England Patriots have activated Cam Newton from the reserve/COVID-19 list, which means he is eligible to practice today and play in Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos.

Newton first tested positive for COVID 12 days ago, on October 3rd. New England cornerback Stephon Gilmore tested positive a couple days later. This news was notable in its own right, but it eventually led to a public debate between Adam Schefter and Gilmore's wife about whether Gilmore had dinner with Cam Newton. Schefter stands by the story.

Newton missed the Patriots' loss against the Chiefs. The Patriots are 2-2 on the season.
