Byeong Hun An Ends His Great Adventure On No. 17 At The Players With An 11

Byeong Hun An, the 80th ranked player in the world, had one of those opening rounds at the Players Championship that a muni course hacker would take any day of the week. He shot an 11-over 83, and it wasn’t even the worst round of the day so far. That honor goes to Henrik Stenson who had a beautiful 13-over 85.

While Stenson was impressing the galleries with a wretched display of golf, it was Hun An putting on a show at the No. 17 island green. He stepped up to the tee box at even and proceeded to hit his first shot into the water and wasn’t done.

We’re still waiting on video, but here’s the play-by-play for Hun An’s adventure:

  • Shot 1 124 yds to water, 66 ft 7 in. to hole
  • Shot 2 Penalty
  • Drop in tee box, 83 yds to hole
  • Shot 3 93 yds to water, 28 ft 4 in. to hole
