Bubba Wallace Reveals His New Michael Jordan Brand No. 23XI Car

Videos by OutKick

Bubba Wallace spent Friday morning unveiling the new Jordan Brand-owned Toyota No. 23XI car he’ll drive during the 2021 season for co-owners Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan.

“I’m excited to move on, but I keep restating we still have two solid races coming up here for us at Martinsville and Phoenix to close out the year that we have to capitalize on,” Wallace said on CBS This Morning. “As much as I’m ready for the future, next year, my mind is still on the two races in 2020 to get through and finish out the best way possible.”

In a rather weird marketing move, Hamlin and Wallace went on CBS This Morning to reveal the car to a national audience. CBS isn’t exactly known for its NASCAR audience or a younger audience, but 23XI Racing must’ve decided it was the perfect spot for Bubba to show off his car.

Gayle King does a great job acting as if she cares about NASCAR, smiling throughout. “I’m very excited about this,” Gayle tells us. Uh, okay. Says the lady who has never mentioned Bubba Wallace in a tweet from her account – ever. Or NASCAR. Gayle does mention that she’s a big fan of Lewis Hamilton, and that checks out.

Something else that’s interesting about today’s interview is that Bubba wasn’t asked about race relations inside NASCAR or how the social justice movement is going. Very weird.

Anyway, Bubba has a new car, and Denny hopes to make some money here. Gayle has forgotten about NASCAR by lunch time, and the world moves on. Just another week in the world of media.

  1. Just another cry baby black who stirred things up over nothing i thought MJ was into winning not going to happen with this clown never won anything and usually a mid pack finisher at best.

  2. “As much as I’m ready for the future, next year, my mind is still on the two races in 2020 to get through and finish out the best way possible.”

Bubba’s goal in last two 2020 races:
Extend streak of 110 consecutive NASCAR races without a win to 112.

  3. You mean CBS This Morning took a 10 minute break from its Biden campaign propaganda to do a NASCAR bit (albeit on its most divisive driver)? The noose hoax event made Wallace toxic to NASCAR. What the hell is Jordan doing teaming up with him?
