Bryce Harper Corrects Heckler For Getting Acuña Name Wrong

Videos by OutKick

Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper knows baseball. He knows how to play it, extremely well, and he knows who else is good at it. He also knows how to accurately pronounce the names of those in the game.

That was the lesson Harper taught a heckler, who tried to use Braves star Ronald Acuña Jr. to insult Harper.

“You’ll never be as good as Acuña,” the heckler shouted at Harper, who was watching from the dugout.

Only the heckler didn’t pronounce “Acuña” correctly. So Harper gave the loser fan wanted he wanted — some attention. But only to make the heckler look like an even bigger fool.

“It’s Acuña,” Harper said, over and over.

Sometimes, creative heckling can offer a good laugh. But there was nothing creative or good about this guy. At least learn to say the players’ names correctly, bro. Basically, not only was this guy not as good as Harper at baseball, he wasn’t even as good at Harper in pronunciation.

  1. Pretty sure it was Harper who looked – and played – the fool.
Got trolled by the guy…and kept getting trolled. Every time Bryce tried to talk the guy just stepped on it.
Guy’s a Braves fan; for sure he knows about the tilda over the “n” and knows how to pronounce Acuña.

  2. I feel like every time Harper is in a headline it is for somebody disliking him for some reason. Not sure why and I don’t really care, but he seems like a pretty dam good player and doesn’t get in to off the field trouble. Am I missing something?
