Auburn Hires Boise State's Bryan Harsin as Next Head Coach

Update: It is now official. Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin has been hired as the next head coach at Auburn.

There has been yet another development in the ongoing Auburn coaching search. According to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports, the Tigers are closing in on a deal with current Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin.

That news was tweeted by Thamel on Tuesday evening.

Brandon Marcello of 247Sports also added an interesting tidbit of information regarding the hire. Harsin was actually the coach who replaced Gus Malzahn at Arkansas State back in 2013. Now he could once again replace him, this time on The Plains.

Harsin has been the head coach at Boise State for seven seasons now. His record for that program currently sits 69-19 (.784). It isn't his first stint with the Broncos, however. He was also the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2006-10.

Stay tuned for more updates on this potential hire.
